Featured Recipe: Mateka:
- 50 grams hibiscus
- 15 grams yerba mate
- 5 grams damiana
- 500 + 250 mL vodka
Weigh the herbs. Combine the herbs and flowers in a glass container. Add 500mL of vodka, and cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap. Let it steep for ten to fifteen days. Agitate the mixture at least once a day; take care to keep the plant materials submerged.
Strain the mixture through a fine sieve, then add another 250mL vodka to finish. Use as a bitter in cocktails, and mixed drinks. Drink it straight, if you dare; it is bitter as all fuck.
